Not sure what kind of tree it is tho. Saw it on our saturday walk to the coffee shop.

yo mo,
i think the tree is called a tulip tree (Liriodendron tulipifera) because the flower kind of resembles a tulip from the side. These trees are recently being used to clean up toxic wastes (ie. mercury, and other heavy metals) and supposedly it does not harm the tree. Native to the east coast. Yay for amazing trees!
Love the picture! E
Hmm, if it’s a tulip tree it’s different from the ones I’ve seen, although it does look pretty similar. The tulip trees I’m familiar with have kind of a “furry” outside of the blossom. I’ll try to get more (better) pictures next time :)
You’re so right! That is totally a tulip tree. The thing I’ve always known as a tulip tree is a magnolia :)
Go E!
I love magnolias too and dogwoods. I love flowering trees in general. :)
