Cars we’re looking at
Update: We got a scion xB! happy with it so far, it’s fun to have a new car. The non-standard options we got are the heated seats and cruise control. It’s barely been on the freeway so far, looking forward to seeing what it does on the long drives.
Currently we have:
1996 Honda Civic Hatchback DX (automatic)
1998 Honda Civic LX Sedan (stick)
We’re looking at something that’ll replace the hatchback that’ll carry a baby around better (IE not having to deal with the 2 door thing and a baby seat).
Ideally the replacement would have the following features:
4+ doors
All wheel drive
Great mileage (35+ gas, hybrid, biodiesel)
Quiet (roadnoise-wise)
ipod control via stereo (can add afterwards tho)
Right now the Honda Fit is looking pretty good, except reviews say that it’s kinda loud on the freeway, and it is the first model year, there’s often problems that get fixed after a year or two. The Element is pretty decent too, except for the gas mileage (22ish), and that it doesn’t have bench seats in the back (as an option at least), meaning 4 people is all we could have.
Looks like there’s 0% financing on jettas now, that’s pretty attractive. We haven’t really checked into VW yet. Subaru’s are interesting too.
The scion xB is looking interesting as well, just found out it has a split bench in the back. Gonna have to do a test drive.
Went and looked at the scion today, seems pretty nice. little low power and a fair amount of road noise, but not really any worse than my civic, and a little better than laura’s I think.
